$150k - $200k annually plus performance‑based bonus.
Position OverviewThe Tax Manager will lead and manage tax engagements for high‑net‑worth individuals and general public accounting clients. They will oversee tax planning, compliance, and advisory services and ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
Responsibilities of the Tax Manager- Manage and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Advise high‑net‑worth clients on tax planning strategies and compliance.
- Oversee tax engagements from planning through completion.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff.
- Conduct client interviews to gather financial data and identify tax‑saving opportunities.
- Research and interpret federal and state tax laws.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax documents.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide future tax planning guidance.
- Review financial records and documentation for accuracy.
- Calculate preparation fees based on return complexity and processing time.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax regulations and industry trends.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting tax functions.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
- Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., Intuit Quick Books, Quicken, tax software).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Experience advising high‑net‑worth individuals.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
- Experience with tax planning for trusts and estates.
- Familiarity with financial analysis software.
- Prior supervisory experience in a public accounting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- An advanced degree or certification is preferred (CPA, MST).
