• Perform duties under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse.
• Demonstrate positive behavior and the ability to implement a care plan.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of surgical instruments and prescribed procedures to provide Surgeons with the appropriate sterile instruments and supplies throughout surgery.
• Accurately complete assignments within scheduled time periods; adapt to workload or patient assignment changes.
• Communicate pertinent patient information and any problems to the registered nurse throughout the shift.
• Cooperate with reassignments to meet unit needs; willing to float and work overtime.
• Provide safe, direct patient care with knowledge and competency in assigned treatments and procedures.
• Remain calm and exercise appropriate judgment during emergency situations; maintain sterility of the field.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and unit/department PI activities.
• Ensure practice reflects ethics, state regulations, JCAHO, and institutional policies; promote professional standards.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Meet New Jersey requirements under the Surgical Technologist law.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Six months operating room experience strongly preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program and Certified Surgical Tech.
• Minimum one year surgical scrub experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• Self‑starter who works well independently.
• Strong time‑management and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Starting at $28.93 per hour. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. Posted rates are estimates of the minimum base pay and may change based on experience, education, and other factors.
