Registered Respiratory Therapist LocationNew Jersey
Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Three 12-hour shifts. Must be flexible with the schedule, including every other weekend and holidays as required. On-call duty is a minimum once weekly.
Job DescriptionThe Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services and Shift Supervisors, provides comprehensive respiratory care therapy and manages supportive equipment as specified in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
Responsibilities- Administer respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies.
- Provide assistance with intubation, as well as set up and manage ventilators.
- Gather and evaluate information to assess patient needs, including disease education and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
- Develop rapport with patients and caregivers to foster an optimal care environment.
- Provide and document education to patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
- Experience in ventilator management and ability to perform arterial blood gases (ABGs) is required.
- High Acuity experience is essential.
- Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license is required.
- Current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
