The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior Quality Assurance Test Engineer to join our awesome Sustainment Engineering team. In this role, you’ll help keep our Cyber Sense product rock-solid — ensuring top-notch stability, performance, and reliability. You’ll dig into tricky issues, troubleshoot with precision, and work closely with talented teammates across the company to keep things running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Test and manage sustainment tickets related to product functionality, performance, and deployment.
  • Investigate, reproduce, and diagnose complex issues across the full software stack in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Generate data and or backups required for testing Sustainment tickets making use of databases, virtual machines and or file systems
  • Install and configure Index Engines’ products on various environments, including the creation of virtual machines as needed
  • Collaborate closely with Product Support, Customer Support, Development, and Scrum teams to identify root causes , understand and test implemented fixes or workarounds.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Index Engines’ products in lab or customer-like environments for issue replication and validation.
  • Perform validation testing on bug fixes, patches, and maintenance releases to ensure stability and compatibility.
  • Contribute detailed and well-documented updates to Jira tickets, including comprehensive descriptions of testing performed, steps taken, and outcomes observed.
  • Collaborate within an Agile framework to align sustainment activities with product release cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with peers, sharing expertise and supporting one another to drive team success and collective growth.
Requirements
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in a technical support, sustainment, or QA engineering role within a product company.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux environments and full-stack applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with backup technologies, storage systems, and data recovery processes.
  • Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with databases (structure, backup, encryption, and maintenance).
  • Experience with REST APIs and tools like Postman or CURL.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for engaging with customers and internal teams.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, global organization, accommodating time zone differences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A strong desire to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment
Preferred
  • Windows OS: 3+ years
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Xray for issue tracking and documentation.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.).
