The Service Now Database Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of data models, data integrations, and database-layer components within the Service

Now platform. Working within a Dev Ops model, this role combines deep Service Nowdata architecture expertise with broader database engineering skills to ensure data integrity,performance, and seamless data flows across enterprise systems.

• Design and manage Service Now table structures, including custom tables, table extensions, dictionary entries, relationships, and database views.
• Develop and maintain data import/export pipelines using Service Now Import Sets,Transform Maps, and Data Sources.
• Build and optimize complex queries using Glide Record, Glide Aggregate, and encoded query syntax; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in database operations.
• Design and implement data migration strategies for platform upgrades, instance consolidations, or system onboarding initiatives.
• Develop and maintain integrations that move data between Service Now and external systems (relational databases, data warehouses, REST/SOAP endpoints, ETL pipelines).
• Collaborate with the Service Now Developer and Administrator to ensure data model changes align with application architecture and platform best practices.
• Partner with reporting and analytics teams to design performant data foundations for dashboards and Performance Analytics indicators.
• Implement data governance standards: field-level security, data classification, audit fields,and retention policies within Service Now.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by managing database-layer changes through Update Sets orsource control and ensuring schema changes are tested and documented.
• Provide expertise in relational database concepts (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) asthey relate to Service Now's underlying architecture.
• Perform data audits, cleansing activities, and deduplication efforts to maintain high data quality.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of Service Now platform experience with a focus on data architecture,import/transform, and Glide Record scripting.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database systems (SQL Server, MySQL,or PostgreSQL).
• Strong understanding of Service Now's CMDB structure, CI relationships, and data model.
• Experience with REST/SOAP API data integration patterns.
• Familiarity with Dev Ops practices: version control, CI/CD, and structured release management.

• Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist– CMDB (CIS-CMDB).
• Experience with ETL tools or data integration platforms (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Boomi).
• Knowledge of Service Now Integration Hub and MID Server configuration.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and reporting platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience supporting CMDB Discovery and Service Mapping.
