Loan Underwriter

A terrific, full-time opportunity exists for a Loan Underwriter with heavy mortgage experience to join an organization offering a lucrative salary and outstanding benefits package. The position is based in a gorgeous, family-oriented river city river city on Wisconsin's western border.

• The Loan Underwriter performs loan underwriting for Conventional, FHA and VA mortgage loans
  .
• Underwrites loans to the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and Government National Mortgage Association Guidelines (GNMA) guidelines. (Underwriting is done manually and through the FNMA DU automated underwriting system)
• Performs compliance reviews on underwritten files verifying that files are in compliance with RESPA and TILA.
• Provides underwriting support and training to all other non-senior underwriters.
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain working knowledge of an array of products and services

• Please DO NOT APPLY unless you have a minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in Conventional, FHA and VA mortgage loans

• Master knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines.
• As noted above,
  deep experience with government loans and vast knowledge of FHA and VA underwriting guidelines is mandatory
• Experienced with DU and LP automated underwriting systems.
• Master knowledge of RESPA and TILA
  .
• Appraisal review experience is essential
• A strong background working in an environment with established quotas and goals
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field is preferred but not required
