Behavioral Support Assistant

Academics are looking for a Behavioral Support Assistant to join fantastic SEN schools in Holmfirth.

This rewarding role of a Behavioral Support Assistant is perfect for someone who lives in Holmfirth, they are patient, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH). As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you'll work closely with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and academic progress.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with behavioural or emotional difficulties.
• Implement individual behaviour support plans and use de-escalation strategies effectively.
• Encourage and model positive behaviour and resilience.
• Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and supported.
• Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support for each pupil.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (in school or care settings).
• Understanding of autism, ADHD, trauma-informed practice, or other additional needs.
• Calm, confident, and nurturing approach to managing challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check
