Maintenance Fitter

Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of production machinery by delivering timely engineering support, minimizing downtime, and contributing to efficient and safe manufacturing processes.

• To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on textile machinery, including:
  Tenters, Jet dyeing machines, Wool milling and dyeing machines.
• Textile finishing and preparation equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all machinery operates in line with manufacturing specifications and performance standards.
• Maintain ancillary infrastructure and facilities such as steam, water, effluent, services and power.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning new equipment and upgrades.
• Support improvements to machinery efficiency, reliability, and energy performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment is safe and compliant.
• Work in line with health and safety regulations across all departments.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Liaise with production teams and other departments to support smooth operations.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean / efficiency projects).
• Support contractors and external engineers when required. Responsibilities and duties should be kept concise.

• Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
• 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and PAT Testing (desirable)
• Experience with industrial machinery (textile machinery highly desirable)
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and utilities (advantageous)
• Awareness of Health & Safety regulations
• Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments
