Deputy Garden Centre Manager

Responsibilities

• Forward planning of work schedule
• Daily resource management to support effective customer service requirements
• Deployment of the team to deliver excellent shop floor standards
• Managing cash/till operations
• Operational audit for compliance in those areas
• Key holder responsibilities to assist with opening and closing of the centres

• Proven managerial experience
• Physically fit, able to perform heavy lifting
• Knowledge of plants essential
• Excellent customer service and visual merchandising skills
• Previous retail management experience
• Horticultural experience essential
• Inspirational leader who provides clear direction and performance management within a culture of coaching and mentoring
• Highly commercial and results‑driven with a proven track record in a management position
• Positive and strong communicator and skilled motivational people manager
• Accountable for providing great customer service and attentive to consumer experience
• Solution‑oriented thinker with excellent problem‑solving skills
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Salary negotiation based on experience
