About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and nurturing Teacher of SEND to join our inclusive and forward-thinking school. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work across two complementary provisions within the same role, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs.
In the morning sessions, you will teach a small group of pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in a classroom-based setting, delivering tailored learning in core subjects.
In the afternoons, you will lead a group of pupils with EHCPs in engaging outdoor learning experiences, focusing on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) development, using our outdoor provision to support regulation, resilience, and well‑being.
About the PupilsIn the morning, the pupils you will work with have complex cognition and learning needs and are working significantly below age‑related expectations. They require:
- Highly differentiated teaching

In the afternoons, you will support pupils to develop SEMH skills such as emotional regulation, communication, confidence, and social interaction through outdoor learning approaches. Both settings are supported with support staff. A small number of pupils access both morning and afternoon provisions.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high‑quality, personalised lessons in core subjects
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Lead a small, well‑supported class with a focus on engagement and progress
- Use assessment effectively to inform next steps for pupils with EHCPs
- Deliver therapeutic, inclusive outdoor provision supporting SEMH needs
- Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider SEND team
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals
- Has experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly cognition and learning needs and/or SEMH
- Is patient, flexible, and highly relational in approach
- Can deliver creative, engaging lessons indoors and outdoors
- Is committed to inclusion and pupil‑centred practice
- Has strong behaviour management rooted in understanding and support
- Values teamwork and collaboration
