CDL Truck Driver

Job Summary

Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

Pay Range: $22-$30

Shift: Monday-Friday, 5am start time

• Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state and federal requirements and company expectations for the fleet; maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections using standard DVIR and note all issues for corrective review/repair.
• Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
• Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problems or unsafe accounts.
• Carry out all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
• Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems on the route.
• Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
• Position containers on the customer’s property to ensure lids are properly replaced, containers are upright, and they do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.

  No prior work experience required.
• Commercial Driver’s License B (CDL) required; applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.
• Acceptable driving record required.

This job has no supervisory duties.
