Overview

Morson Edge is looking for a Senior Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor.

Location:

RAF Valley, Isle of Anglesey. Position:
Permanent. Salary: £37,271.74. Role . This is a hands‑on supervisory role within a structured military aviation environment, leading mechanical maintenance activities while supporting aircraft availability, technical standards, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance activities on aircraft and aircraft components
  • Delegate tasks and authorise maintenance activities within defined trade boundaries
  • Ensure airworthiness standards and approved maintenance procedures are maintained
  • Carry out and oversee fault diagnosis, inspections, repairs, and component replacement
  • Monitor maintenance delivery against programme requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the wider team
  • Ensure compliance with approved technical information and safety procedures
  • Maintain aviation quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Support a safe and efficient fast jet maintenance environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience supervising mechanical aircraft maintenance activities
  • Strong technical competence in aircraft maintenance and fault diagnosis
  • Proven leadership experience within a regulated aviation environment
  • Good understanding of aviation safety and quality procedures
  • Evidence of maintenance currency and recency through logbook records
  • Comfortable working within a safety‑critical operational setting
Qualifications
  • Engineering apprenticeship (Aeronautical or military equivalent preferred)
  • City & Guilds 2675 / 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent recognised qualification
