Post Award Finance Officer Pay rate:
Circa £140-180 per day depending on experience

Central London (Hybrid, 2 days in the office) Job Type: Full-time, Interim We're working closely with an excellent Higher Education establishment currently going through a period of transition. This is an exciting interim role for Post Award Finance Officer.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the effective financial administration of externally funded projects. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team, delivering high standards of financial oversight and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic research and funding environment. Day-to-day of the role:
Provide financial administration and monitoring for externally funded projects, ensuring all expenditures are accurately recorded and aligned with funding requirements. Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and reconciliations for internal stakeholders and external funding bodies within agreed deadlines. Work collaboratively with academic and departmental teams to support budget management and provide guidance on financial processes and procedures. Assist with audits, grant claims, and compliance activities, maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation at all times.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance financial controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency across post-award activities. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Previous experience within finance administration, grant finance, or post-award support, ideally gained within the Education or R&D environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet strict reporting deadlines. Commercial awareness with the ability to interpret financial information and support effective budget monitoring and decision-making. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with confidence engaging professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.

Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel, including experience preparing reports, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
