Overview

Senior Energy Market Analyst role at ISO New England Inc. The internal Market Monitoring (IMM) group monitors wholesale electricity markets, protects consumers and participants, and evaluates market performance.

• Track market outcomes, identify trends and outliers.
• Design, develop, and run screening tools to detect market performance issues and compliance violations.
• Source and engage with data through research.
• Build data queries and analysis using programming languages.
• Perform empirical statistical analysis of market performance and efficiency.
• Evaluate rule changes and recommend enhancements.
• Prepare complex technical content for reports and presentations.
• Conduct investigations and refer findings to regulators.

• Master’s degree in economics, business, public policy, or related field.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in wholesale electricity markets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex findings in plain language.
• Strong quantitative skills; expertise in SAS or similar programming languages.
• Experience in forensic-like investigations of market outcomes.
• Team player with efficient collaboration.

Hybrid work schedule (3 days/week onsite), relocation assistance, base salary $109,000–$158,000 plus performance bonus, comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, and more.
