** The at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a three year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029. PhD or ABD required.
The successful applicant will teach lecture and laboratory sections of core courses in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. The opportunity to teach an upper-level course in the applicant’s area of expertise may be possible. Excellent facilities for research are available, including access to a research laboratory and a rich array of instrumentation. The opportunity also exists, at the candidate’s discretion, to establish student research collaborations.
The successful applicant will have a broad background in organic and biological chemistry and possess strong teaching, writing, and interpersonal skills. Our community is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. Strong candidates will demonstrate their aptitude for this environment in their application materials by reflecting on their teaching and mentoring experiences to date, and describing their plans for the future.
Applications must include a cover letter, a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, a summary of research interests, and a statement concerning mentoring a diverse student body. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree by the time of appointment. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning late January 2026.
