Holyoke Community College invites adjunct applications to teach in the Engineering Department in the Spring 2026 semester for the following courses:
Systems Analysis (Circuits Analysis) I and II (On‑Campus);
Introduction to Electronic Digital Circuits with Verilog (On‑Campus or Online).
Under the direction of the Academic Department Chairs and/or Division Deans.
Adjunct faculty provides a quality learning experience for Holyoke Community College students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to the Dean of the BSTEM division and perform instruction‑related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Responsibilities- Distribute and review the course syllabus during the first class meeting. Forward the dean no later than the end of the first week of classes in each session a course syllabus.
- Utilize active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course. Activities include, but are not limited to: cooperative learning, experiential learning, writing for learning and/or critical thinking initiatives.
- Remain abreast of ongoing developments and practices in professional content area(s).
- Arrange for acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in a timely manner necessary to meet course objectives in collaboration with the area dean.
- Be prompt and accurate in recording and reporting of student data, including assessment of student performance and final grade reports.
- Be supportive of students’ learning goals by focusing on student learning outcomes, taking into account the needs and abilities of the students, and becoming familiar with academic and social support.
- Make reasonable provisions to accommodate individual differences.
- Maintain the academic integrity of the college.
- Make yourself available to assist students in achieving their learning goals.
- Be aware of and recommend campus services to students as needed (library services, library home page, financial aid, counseling, supplemental instruction, etc.).
- Attend all scheduled classes. If necessary, notify the supervisor or his/her designee and provide an alternate assignment.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or related area;
- Demonstrated interest and ability in community college classroom teaching;
- Commitment to and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff & student body.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience teaching electrical engineering.
Compensation: DCE salary $1,397.00 per credit; no benefits.
Funding Source: State.
Start Date: Spring 2026.
