Holyoke Public Schools is a PreK-12 public school district serving nearly 5,100 students, of whom 80 percent are Latino/Latina, in 11 schools. • Passion for fostering relationships with students to learn about their interests, communities, languages, and cultures.
• Incorporate positive and equitable classroom‑management practices and collaborate with school‑based teams to promote consistency of school‑wide systems across content areas.
• Advocate for relevant and high‑quality music experiences, settings, and opportunities, and foster advocacy skills in students through music learning and teaching.
• Foster two‑way communication and collaboration with caregivers.
• Have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with colleagues, administrators, and caregivers.
• Be prepared to offer creative and student‑led musical activities.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least one year of full‑time teaching experience
• Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students
• Experience working in an urban setting (preferred)
• Experience working with diverse student populations (preferred)
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills
