  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, para educators, special educators, and student‑support staff to foster an inclusive and responsive music learning environment for each student.
  • Passion for fostering relationships with students to learn about their interests, communities, languages, and cultures.
  • Incorporate positive and equitable classroom‑management practices and collaborate with school‑based teams to promote consistency of school‑wide systems across content areas.
  • Advocate for relevant and high‑quality music experiences, settings, and opportunities, and foster advocacy skills in students through music learning and teaching.
  • Foster two‑way communication and collaboration with caregivers.
  • Have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with colleagues, administrators, and caregivers.
  • Be prepared to offer creative and student‑led musical activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least one year of full‑time teaching experience
  • Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students
  • Experience working in an urban setting (preferred)
  • Experience working with diverse student populations (preferred)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills
  • Bilingual applicants (Spanish) strongly encouraged to apply
