Senior Windows Platform & Automation Engineer
Location:
Holyoke, MA - Hybrid Duration: 15+ Months Contract
Summary:
A Senior Windows Platform & Automation Engineer Consultant to support the Infrastructure Services Department. The selected consultant will be needed as soon as possible and is expected to provide services through December 2027, with the possibility of extension. This position will follow a hybrid work model.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the Windows Server platform lifecycle, including patching, OS upgrades, server builds, retirements, and vulnerability remediation.
- Define, maintain, and continuously improve processes, standards, documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Partner with system administrators to execute platform activities while maintaining overall process ownership and governance.
- Drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies through Power Shell, Ansible, and other tooling.
- Maintain Windows security baselines, Group Policy standards, and platform hardening practices.
- Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to improve platform reliability, security, compliance, and supportability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that modernize the Windows platform and reduce technical debt.
- Provide technical leadership and promote knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, VMware, and Nutanix environments.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with CIS benchmarks, Microsoft security baselines, and compliance-driven environments.
- Relevant Microsoft, cloud, automation, or security certifications preferred.
