Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Days

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Days Shift

Join Mira Vista Behavioral Health Center as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The role is based Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no call or weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Document patient care in electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required). Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program (required).
  • RN licensed.
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner within the state of Massachusetts (required).
  • Prior experience in a psychiatry setting is preferred, but not required.
  • MCSR and DEA license required.
  • Advanced level knowledge of medicine and expertise in child/adolescent and/or adult medicine.
  • Knowledge of current ICD methodology.
  • Skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to behavioral health inpatient services (e.g., JC, CMS, DMH, DPH).
  • Time management, problem‑solving, crisis management, and team‑building capacity; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare technology; proficiency in EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of current mental health laws and ethical standards.
