Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Days Shift
Join Mira Vista Behavioral Health Center as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The role is based Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no call or weekend shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care in electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required). Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program (required).
- RN licensed.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner within the state of Massachusetts (required).
- Prior experience in a psychiatry setting is preferred, but not required.
- MCSR and DEA license required.
- Advanced level knowledge of medicine and expertise in child/adolescent and/or adult medicine.
- Knowledge of current ICD methodology.
- Skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to behavioral health inpatient services (e.g., JC, CMS, DMH, DPH).
- Time management, problem‑solving, crisis management, and team‑building capacity; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare technology; proficiency in EMR systems.
- Knowledge of current mental health laws and ethical standards.
