Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and clinical coordination within our behavioral health units, delivering quality, compassionate care for child (ages 5-17), adult, geriatric and forensic patients. You†ll work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Education & Licensure Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN)
  Required
  , BSN Preferred.

Licensure:

• Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or compact state as applicable)
  Required .

Certifications:

• BLS (CPR)
  - Required upon hire.

• CPI or Handle With Care
  - Preferred

• ACLS

• CRRN
  - Preferred

Required Skills & Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  - Required.

• 6+ months Med/Surg experience
  - Preferred.

• Behavioral Health or Psychiatric experience
  - Preferred.

• Strong communication, assessment, and de-escalation skills .

• Calm, compassionate, and focused under pressure.

• Team-oriented with a passion for patient-centered care.

• Understanding of Trauma
  -informed care (Preferred).

Essential Job Functions

• Nurses at Valley Springs are active participants and key collaborators on the patient team in a patient's behavioral health journey.

• Provide direct nursing care according to established standards and procedures.

• Assess patient conditions, develop individualized care plans, and document progress.

• Administer medications and treatments safely.

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to coordinate care.
