Dishwasher; Part-Time

Shift: Rotating Shift

Responsible to maintain a high level of sanitation to minimize food-borne illness and cross‑contamination of food by following set procedures in washing dishes, pots, pans and the proper storage of these items.

• Set up the dishwashing and pot sink area for service.
• Wash dishes, pots and pans during service; return them to the storage area.
• Maintain the weekly cleaning schedule.
• Dispose of trash, boxes, cans and bottles in their proper receptacles.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen floor, walk‑in refrigerators and tile area in the dining room.
• Wash floor mats.
• Maintain the kitchen and dining room area with a high level of sanitation to minimize food‑borne illness and cross‑contamination of food.
• Follow set closing procedures.

• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift objects of fifty pounds or more.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.

• Handling of hot liquids, toxic or flammable liquids, or contaminated materials, requiring caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.
• Working evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Working in extreme heat.

• Reports to the Cook, Sous Chef, Coordinator of Dietary Services or the Director of Food Service.
