About the RoleAssistant Store Managers are the heart and soul of Lids. They are responsible for driving store performance, fostering a fun and inclusive environment, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities People & Training- Act as Manager on duty for scheduling, customer complaints, and other issues when the Store Manager is absent.
- Manage store associates using training programs, goal setting, and regular follow‑up.
- Administer progressive discipline, including verbal and written warnings.
- Engage team members, building positive relationships and reinforcing Lids brand standards.
- Schedule and staff the store, calling in associates for peak periods.
- Recruit, train, and develop store personnel.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safeguarding inventory, funds, and property.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Lead, execute, and support the Selling 101 strategy to meet KPIs and sales targets.
- Resolve customer feedback and escalations promptly.
- Promote membership programs and special offers to in‑store customers.
- Adhere to visual guidelines, merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional appearance following the Company Dress Code.
- Execute company‑level directives, promotions, and initiatives from HQ.
- Follow the Policies & Procedures Manual for safety and compliance.
- Maintain and troubleshoot store technology and equipment.
- Manage facilities, supplies, and service requests.
- Handle cash, including opening/closing the till, cash protection, and bank drops.
- Prepare the store for inventory audits.
- Open and close the store per Operations procedures.
- Protect company assets per LIDS Retail policies.
- Assist in scheduling to ensure wage control.
- Accurately manage inventory: receiving, transferring, pricing changes, and product counts.
- Organize the backroom for maximum efficiency.
- Execute visual merchandising and product presentation strategies.
- Maintain day‑to‑day visual merchandising and store actions.
- Adjust pricing signage and promotions during operating hours.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year relative experience.
- Proven ability to achieve sales results while minimizing loss.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with software programs.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb a ladder, and stand for the majority of the shift.
- Capacity to work unsupervised.
- Experience with retail operations is preferred.
Annual pay range (Massachusetts): $15,600 – $53,500. Additional bonuses available. Full‑time employees receive a full range of benefits, including paid time off, health, vision, dental, 401(k), and an employee discount. Eligible for monthly store sales bonuses.
