Position: Front Of House Assistant (Temporary 2 months - Shift work) TLNT1_NI
The Company Our client is a well-known visitor attraction with a strong focus on Northern Ireland's heritage, culture and history. Welcoming visitors from across Northern Ireland, the UK and further afield, the organisation provides an engaging and memorable experience for a wide range of audiences. They are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House Assistants to join their team and help ensure every visitor receives a warm, welcoming and exceptional experience.

The Role As a Front of House Assistant, you will be one of the first points of contact for visitors and will play an important role in creating a positive experience from the moment they arrive. This is a busy, public-facing role and would suit someone who enjoys working with people, is confident in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities will include:
Welcoming and assisting visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Providing information and assistance to a wide range of visitors. Processing admissions and bookings using online booking and admissions systems. Operating a computerised retail till system. Handling cash, counting takings and reconciling daily receipts. Supporting front of house, retail and visitor services activities as required. Dealing confidently and professionally with customer enquiries.

Helping to ensure the visitor experience is accessible, inclusive and welcoming to all. Maintaining a high standard of presentation across front of house areas. Working effectively as part of a team while also using initiative and working independently when required. Using a range of IT systems and programmes, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Supporting the wider team during busy periods, events and high visitor numbers.

Working flexibly as part of a rota, including weekends, evenings and bank/public holidays.

The Person

Essential Criteria Candidates must meet the following criteria: A minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) and 6 months' experience working in a customer service role within a fast-paced, public-facing environment, OR 1 year's experience working in a customer service role within a fast-paced, public-facing environment. Genuine enthusiasm and passion for delivering exceptional customer service to a wide range of people.

Experience using an online bookings and admissions system or computerised retail till system. Experience working in a similar environment with high customer numbers. Experience working effectively both within a team and independently as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation. Previous experience of cash handling, counting cash and reconciling takings. Experience effectively using a range of IT tools and programmes, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Availability to work flexible hours as part of a rota, including weekends, evenings and bank/public holidays. Package & Benefits 24 hours per week. Rota-based working pattern. Experience with in a well-established cultural and heritage organisation. Shift Pattern The role operates on a four-week rota:
Week 1:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday Week 2:
Wednesday and Friday Week 3:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday Week 4:
Wednesday and Friday Please note that flexibility is required to work weekends, evenings and bank/public holidays as part of the rota.
