Payroll and Finance Officer

Reed Recruitment is working with a well-known institution based in Holywood. Our client has an urgent requirement for an experienced Payroll and Finance Officer to join their team at the start of September.

This is a temporary assignment for a period of three months, however a permanent opportunity may be available dependent on performance.

The role is offering a competitive salary, weekly pay, and the opportunity to work within a busy and supportive administrative function

Daily Duties:
  • Process payroll for main staff ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Calculate pro-rata payments for mid-month starters and leavers, and process arrears payments as necessary.
  • Verify timesheets, overtime claims, and other payroll-related documentation.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including starters, leavers, and changes to terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and submit monthly returns and payments, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Issue monthly payslips, P45s, and assist with year-end payroll activities such as P60s.
  • Undertake auto-enrolment and re-enrolment duties, and manage pension returns.
Financial Administration:
  • Use IT system to facilitate the collection of payments
  • Administer payments and receipts ensuring adherence to financial procedures.
  • Support petty cash management and assist with the administration of accounts payable.
  • Maintain and update payroll and financial procedures to ensure continuity and compliance.
General Administrative Duties:
  • Provide cover for reception and cross-cover for the Finance Manager as required.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records and support internal and external audits.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training relevant to the role.
Required Skills &

Qualifications:
  • Experience in payroll processing and financial data management within a busy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems, with proficiency in managing statutory payments and deductions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain high accuracy under pressure.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial management systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with various
