Middle School Science Teacher – Keys Gate Charter High School, Full‑time, Entry level.

Pay RangeSalary: $47,000 – $58,000 per year. Actual pay will be based on experience and qualifications.
Job PurposeCreate and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines. Establish effective rapport with students, staff, and parents. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives as outlined in the adopted curriculum.
- Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans maximizing teaching strategies and time on task.
- Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities and provides real‑world, application‑based examples.
- Reviews student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs. Maintains accurate and complete records.
- Strives to maximize each student’s educational achievement.
- Utilizes a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction within lessons.
- Employs diagnostic assessment frequently and uses data to inform instruction.
- Assesses strengths and weaknesses, provides appropriate activities, and generates progress reports as required.
- Refers students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Coordinates class field trips as required.
- Prepares students for state-required achievement assessments.
- Keeps current on subject‑matter knowledge and learning theory, and shares this knowledge for continual curriculum improvement.
- Assists in ongoing curriculum revision and selection of instructional materials.
- Becomes acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students as an extension of regular classroom activities.
- Creates a conducive learning environment appropriate for student maturity and interests.
- Maintains positive rapport with students, demonstrates patience, and nurtures growth.
- Ensures the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student‑generated work.
- Implements all relevant student conduct policies.
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom and playground behavior and enforces them fairly.
- Develops lesson plans consistent with guidelines and goals.
- Plans individual and/or group learning activities to meet objectives and student needs.
- Prepares for assigned classes and shows evidence of preparation at supervisory requests.
- Participates with staff in curriculum planning during meetings.
- Incorporates all diagnostic information required in student IEPs.
- Protects supplies, equipment, and materials needed for instruction.
- Establishes cooperative relations and communicates appropriately with parents and guardians.
- Collaborates with administration, staff, and CSUSA.
- Maintains student record confidentiality.
- Participates in parent communication activities.
- Participates in extracurricular activities to support positive school culture.
May perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent; possession of valid teaching certification.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of successful teaching experience, including internship if applicable.
