Job Purpose

As a 1st Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, build effective rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge essential for an effective educational foundation. You will support CSUSA’s mission of Relentless Commitment to Student Greatness in School and in Life™.

How You Will Impact Education
  • Plan and implement instruction that adheres to the company’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Create purposeful lesson plans that maximize teaching strategies and time on task.
  • Present subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities, providing real‑world, application‑based examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs, maintaining accurate and complete records.
  • Use a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction as needed.
  • Conduct frequent diagnostic assessments, generate progress reports, and refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required and prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory, sharing insights for continuous curriculum improvement.
  • Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process, including the selection of books, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Become acquainted with supplemental services that benefit students as an extension of regular classroom activities.
Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
  • Maintain positive rapport with students through patience and nurturing support.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student‐generated work when appropriate.
  • Develop and enforce reasonable classroom/playground rules in accordance with CSUSA policy and guidelines.
Instructional Planning
  • Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and goals.
  • Plan individual and group learning activities to meet instructional objectives and student needs.
  • Prepare for assigned classes and demonstrate preparation upon request of supervisory personnel.
  • Collaborate with staff in curriculum planning during scheduled meetings.
  • Incorporate diagnostic information into planning for students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Take precautions to protect supplies, equipment, and materials needed for effective instruction.
School/Community Relations
  • Establish cooperative relationships and communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and positively with parents via all appropriate mediums.
  • Cooperate with administration, staff, and CSUSA members.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records.
  • Participate in parent communication activities and extracurricular events to promote a positive school culture.
Required Qualifications and Skills
