First United Methodist Christian School (FUMCS), a Christ-centered, FACCS-accredited private school in Homestead, Florida, is seeking an outstanding Upper Elementary Lead Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are hiring for Grades 3, 4, and 5.

About Our School
FUMCS has served families in South Florida for decades by providing an excellent Christian education in a loving, supportive environment. Our faculty work together as a team to challenge students academically while nurturing their spiritual, emotional, and social development.

Unlike many schools, our administration comes from an education background. We understand the realities of the classroom because we've been there ourselves. Our goal is to support our teachers, not simply supervise them.

Position Responsibilities

Teach all core elementary subjects, including:
- Bible
- Reading
- Language Arts
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
Integrate biblical truth throughout daily instruction.
Create engaging, organized lesson plans using our Christian curriculum.
Foster a positive classroom culture built on respect, grace, and high expectations.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and administration.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

Hold a bachelor's degree (required)
Be fluent in English (required)
Demonstrate strong classroom management and instructional skills
Possess excellent communication and organizational abilities
Be committed to attending church regularly at the church of their choosing
Have a heart for Christian education and a desire to mentor students spiritually as well as academically

Teaching certification and prior elementary teaching experience are preferred but not required for the right candidate.
