Job Overview: The Clinical Staff Pharmacist II provides pharmaceutical care to Baptist Health patients of all ages through medication order review, preparation, dispensing, documentation, monitoring, patient counseling, and medication reconciliation. Collaborates with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and fiscally responsible patient‑centered care. The Clinical Pharmacist II interprets, reviews and processes medication orders, screens orders for appropriateness and intervenes as warranted.
Works with physicians, care managers, and other clinical staff, as part of a medical care team focusing on patient outcomes while maintaining cost. Additionally serves as a mentor and develops clinical skills of junior staff. Precepts pharmacy students, technician students in collaboration with the Pharmacy management team. Actively participates in developing and presenting educational topics, staff development programs and assists in performance improvement projects, drug use evaluations, formulary reviews and research projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmaceutical care through medication order review, preparation, dispensing, documentation, monitoring, patient counseling, and medication reconciliation.
- Collaborate with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and fiscally responsible patient‑centered care.
- Interpret, review and process medication orders; screen orders for appropriateness and intervene when needed.
- Participate in a medical care team focusing on patient outcomes while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Mentor and develop clinical skills of junior staff; precept pharmacy and technician students.
- Develop and present educational topics; contribute to performance improvement, drug use evaluation, formulary review, and research projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors (Bachelor of Science) in Pharmacy or related field.
- Registered Pharmacist license.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) preferred. - Progressive pharmaceutical care experience or Pharmacy Residency preferred.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialty (BPS) preferred.
- PGY1: 3 years; PGY2: 2 additional years.
- Minimum required experience: 3 years.
Benefits & Additional Info: Estimated pay range $56.35–$73.26 per hour depending on experience.
