ESS Service Technician- Miami

Job Description

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) requires comprehensive inspection, maintenance, repair, and support services for Electronic Security Systems (ESS) at approximately 220 court and USMS facilities in the South Region which includes multiple districts across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The contract supports the USMS mission to ensure the physical security and protection of federal judicial operations, personnel, and visitors.

. Primary break fix equipment is on courtroom Video Surveillance Systems (VSS, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (PACS) and Intercoms, infrastructure, cabling, door hardware, power, security consoles, life safety devices, detention locks/controllers, and turnstiles.

This position requires a strong technical background in electronic security systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining mission-critical security systems that protect personnel, property, and sensitive information. Performs nonroutine maintenance onsite physical access control systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Intercoms, infrastructure, cabling, door hardware, power, security consoles, life safety devices, detention locks/controllers, and turnstiles.

Maintains appropriate logs of activities Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies control and instrumentation systems at onsite locations under general supervision Assignments are undertaken independently on a regular basis Prepares required field and office reports of various activities and findings Initiates basic reports and/or establishes and maintains logs and records. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Must Have: 3+ years of experience independently troubleshooting commercial security systemsto include IDS, CCTV, Access Control, etc.. Willing to travel up to three hours to answer service tickets Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Ability to pass security clearance Pluses:
Industry certifications in all or some of the below:
Commend Core Level, Radionix/ Bosch G Series, IQ Sight/ Bosch BVMS, Hirsch Velocity Active Secret Clearance
