Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a long-term contract position. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. In this role, you will support and oversee electrical power system design activities, including the development of scope documents, schedules, budgets, single-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, and layout/circuitry designs.

You will ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, QA processes, and regulatory requirements, while providing technical direction to engineers, designers, and drafters. Additional responsibilities include assisting with system checkout and startup, collaborating with cross-discipline teams, and contributing to the resolution of complex engineering challenges. Proficiency in AutoCAD, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential for success in this role.

Experience in power plant or nuclear environments and familiarity with industry design processes are preferred.

• Support and oversee electrical power system design activities
• Develop scope documents, schedules, budgets, and design deliverables
• Prepare single-line diagrams, elementary/wiring diagrams, and layout/circuitry designs
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, QA processes, and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical direction to engineers, designers, and drafters
• Assist with system checkout and startup as needed
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to ensure project effectiveness
• Contribute to solving complex engineering challenges and optimizing project execution

• Build effective relationships with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical power system design principles (power plant/nuclear experience preferred)
• Proficiency with applicable codes, standards, QA requirements, and federal/state/local regulations
• Experience developing scope documents, schedules, budgets, and design deliverables
• Ability to prepare single-line diagrams, elementary/wiring diagrams, and layout/circuitry designs
• Skilled in preparing design details, drawings, and calculations
• Experience scheduling, coordinating, and executing projects to meet cost and timeline objectives
• AutoCAD proficiency (CAD Overlay a plus)
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• High initiative and strong planning/organization abilities
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors
• Familiarity with industry design processes (e.g., IP-ENG-001) preferred
