What You’ll Do
  • Ensure Quality Control:
    Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality at production points, during shipping, and at the job site. Adhere to testing methods per ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT.
  • Document and Report Information:
    Complete required reports promptly and accurately; interpret, document, and store results. Communicate test results to the supervisor and document in a database.
  • Maintain Lab Standards:
    Keep housekeeping standards in the lab and around it. Troubleshoot problems and review basic product specifications. Inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment periodically.
  • Monitor Stockpile:
    Inspect stockpiles, material sources, and truckloads at plant sites. Monitor daily construction of stockpiles to minimize or eliminate segregation and contamination; notify management if contamination is identified.
  • Inspect Equipment and Structures:
    Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximizing production and minimizing interruptions.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills You’ll Need
  • Experience:

    Preference for prior training or experience in the materials testing field. Knowledge of aggregate production principles and practices.
  • Safety Knowledge:
    Awareness of construction and mining site hazards.
  • Math

    Skills:

    Ability to perform simple to moderately complex arithmetic calculations.
  • Technology

    Skills:

    Proficiency with computerized equipment and software. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant packages.
