SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Honiton

Location: Honiton, Devon Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Contract: Full-time or long-term supply Start date: ASAP Pay: £14.96 per hour PAYE / £16.30 via Umbrella

Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Honiton. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.

You will be working one-to-one or within small groups, supporting pupils with a range of needs such as:

• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech, language & communication needs
• SEMH
• Cognition & learning difficulties

The school is warm, well-resourced, and committed to providing high-quality support and training for the right candidate.

• Supporting pupils with special educational needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Assisting the class teacher with planning and adapting lessons where needed
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation using a trauma‑informed approach
• Helping pupils engage with learning and develop confidence
• Creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for all learners

• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
• A caring, resilient and patient nature
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
• An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) is a bonus but not essential
