Location:Hill House, Dunkeswell Road, Honiton. EX14 4UQ
Pay:£15.14 - £15.45 p/h
Hours:30 Hours per week over 3 days.
The Role Of a Chef- As a Care Home Chef; you'll develop, in consultation with residents, healthy balanced menus, with choices which reflect their needs and preferences.
- Plan, prepare and cook residents’ meals from the agreed menu, taking into account personal preferences or recognised dietary requirements.
- Regularly seek feedback, monitoring resident satisfaction with the menu and quality of the food provided.
- Work alongside our Catering Manager and other team members to provide residents with healthy, delicious meals.
- Maintain a system of effective stock rotation and control, managing catering costs within the agreed budget.
- Oversee safe and proper use of catering equipment.
- Champion kitchen cleaning procedures and schedules, ensuring the kitchen and store areas are clean, hygienic, and that all relevant food‑safety records are completed.

- As a Chef, you’ll have a relevant Certificate in Food Hygiene and a track record of demonstrable experience cooking varied, healthy, and safe meals for large groups on a regular basis.
- You’ll also be able to manage resources and plan rotas in advance to ensure continuity of the catering service.
- Be methodical and highly organised; the kitchen and equipment will be kept clean and tidy, with an effective method of stock rotation.
Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
