Position: Accountant, Payroll (Full Time, Day Shift, 40 Hours)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates activities relating to the administration of the payroll system of the Medical Center and assigned subsidiaries.
  • Ensures compliance with governmental reporting requirements, bargaining agreements and policies and procedures of the Medical Center.
  • Assures integrity of the payroll system by reconciling processed transactions with input and reconciling processed reports through general ledger interface for the Medical Center and assigned subsidiaries.

  • Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.
  • Frequent: sitting.
  • Infrequent: walking, stooping/bending, reach at and below shoulder level.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
    • • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; or five (5) years experience in accounting functions using accounting methods, theory and analytical skills may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • B.

    EXPERIENCE:
    • • In addition to education requirement, two (2) years experience with payroll software systems, or in accounting is required.
    • Experience to demonstrate:
      • o Knowledge of GAAP and the healthcare industry.
      • o Ability to identify and raise accounting and internal control issues and propose resolution.
      • o Proficiency in spreadsheet programs and tools.
      • o Strong leadership skills to develop process and practices with the Payroll team.
      • o Interpersonal skills to organize work volume, communicate with all levels of the organization, and provide effective customer service.
      • o Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, administrative, and time‑management skills.
      • o Strong focus on accuracy with attention to details.
    • • Peoplesoft HRMS and Kronos UKG timekeeping experience preferred.
