The Ambassador Hotel of Waikiki by Hilton is looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring that key functions of accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and collections are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities- Review, code, and process vendor invoices.
- Maintain vendor files and statements.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
- Verify that purchasing procedures are followed and that purchase orders are attached to invoices.
- Coordinate with properties on weekly check‑run requests.
- Assist the sales effort in establishing customer credit in accordance with company policies.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely fashion and communicate issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Post city ledger payments in the property management system, reconcile, and bill all city ledger accounts.
- Maintain an efficient collection process, including filing, issuing letters, monitoring returned checks and charge‑backs, performing collection calls, and preparing bad debt write‑offs.
- Perform follow‑up billing and credit collection documentation and inform the Supervisor of potential collection issues.
- Monitor guest and deposit ledgers to ensure proper internal control.
- Keep management aware of unusual operations or financial deviations.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with related experience in a hotel or related field.
- College coursework in an associate field preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows, approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including long shifts when required.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and perform other light physical tasks.
- Warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
- Strong listening, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
- Detail‑oriented and able to multitask to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and cross‑train in other hotel areas.
- Confidentiality and initiative in handling operational needs.
- Compliance with company standards and regulations.

Location:
