Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a busy organization in Honolulu, Hawaii on a Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day payment operations in a fast-paced environment tied to manufacturing, distribution, retail, and wholesale activity. The ideal candidate brings strong invoice processing experience, accuracy in financial coding, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

- Review and assign the correct general ledger coding to incoming invoices before entering them into the accounts payable workflow.

- Process a large volume of vendor invoices with close attention to accuracy, timeliness, and supporting documentation.

- Monitor payment schedules to ensure invoices are prepared and released in accordance with agreed due dates.

- Support ACH payments and check run activities while following established internal controls and approval procedures.

- Maintain organized records of payable transactions and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams and vendors.

- Enter accounts payable data into the company system and verify that financial information is complete and correctly recorded.

- Contribute to efficient daily AP operations within a dynamic setting that supports shipping, receiving, manufacturing, and sales channels.

Requirements - Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice review, payment processing, and record maintenance.

- Proven ability to code invoices accurately and apply appropriate account classifications.

- Familiarity with ACH transactions and check run procedures.

- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment with competing deadlines.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data entry.

- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding payment issues.

- Proficiency using accounting or ERP systems for entries, tracking, and invoice management.
