BRIEF POSTING
DESCRIPTION:
The P XB ENERGY CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION Department of the P RENEWABLE ACQUISITION Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Management vacancy available. This position may be filled on Oahu. (Role: Professional)
- Provides department support by administering Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and/or policies with Independent Power Producers (IPP) for Hawaiian Electric on Oahu, Hawaii Island, and Maui County.
- Manages computerized systems and data to effectively manage power purchase projects from conceptualization/inception through negotiations, approvals, construction, commercial operation, and closing of projects.
- Tracks project onboarding progress, costs, budgets, meter data, and performance metrics.
- Ensures compliance with PPA requirements and reconciles PPA invoices.
- Develops, manages, and enhances project processes, PPA spreadsheets (e.g., invoicing, checklists), and data analytic tools.
- Develops, documents, and trains on project management procedures.
- Contract Invoice and Payment Reconciliation: analyzes project meter data and performance metrics, reconciles invoices, resolves discrepancies, processes payments per contracts and deadlines, tabs costs, submits invoices, updates accounting records, and issues monthly purchased power data; enhances invoicing processes to streamline monthly activities.
- Operational Data Management: manages division data and systems, ensures timely data retrieval, develops tools to analyze and visualize data, maintains procedure documents, and supports yearly audits.
- Project Management Support: develops and enhances project processes to meet deadlines and PPA requirements; supports division activities such as cost management, authorizations, PUC reporting; leads and coordinates project teams to meet milestones; coordinates with Energy Contract Managers for schedules and variances.
- Department and Division Support: supports priorities for the Energy Contract Administration Department; develops, implements, and administers policies and procedures aligned with division mission and corporate goals.
- Participates in Company emergency response activities as assigned.
- Knowledge Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field. - Knowledge of software applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, UI Planner, SAP, SQL, statistical programs (e.g., Python, R), visualization tools (e.g., Power BI); knowledge of Hawaiian Electric cost reporting and budgeting process.
- Skills Requirements:
Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive issues with tact, courtesy, and discretion; excellent written and oral skills; strong interpersonal skills; adaptability to changing priorities; ability to conceptualize new ideas quickly; strong analytical and computational skills to analyze and improve database programs and processes; ability to code using Excel macros, visualization software, or statistical programs to automate tasks; excellent organizational skills;
ability to handle highly sensitive/confidential matters discreetly. - Experience Requirements: 1-2 years using project management techniques; 1-2 years of office experience in legal and/or administration areas; 1-2 years of analytical experience with large datasets and analytical or visualization software (e.g., Excel, Python, R, Power BI).

The hiring range for the Project Analyst position is $78,000.00 to $93,800.00, placement based on skills and qualifications.
