Currently looking for a Project Manager to fill a Construction opening for large commercial construction projects with a global commercial metals & steel company in Hawaii. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working in Hawaii and have a heavy commercial civil construction background preferably in highways, bridges, stadiums, retail and large hotels.

Responsibilities of the Construction Project Manager

  • Manage multiple projects to successful completion and enjoy interfacing with clients and colleagues across the organization.
  • Allocate resources and personnel.

    Monitor and coordinate project details to ensure progress is completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Review project status with clients and management.
  • Other tasks as directed.

Requirements of the Construction Project Manager

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:
    Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial, Retail, Heavy Civil, Bridge, or Large Hotel projects in the construction industry.
  • General contracting and project management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with large construction projects in Construction Project Management.
  • Minimum 1 year in a Hawaii business setting.
  • Rebar and/or concrete experience highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen.
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawings.
  • Strong client facing and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled in scheduling, planning, organizing and prioritizing work.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and influence others.
  • Creative thinking and problem solving abilities.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to carry and/or lift up to 30 lbs. and climb stairs when necessary.
