Overview
The authorized level of the position is Building Construction Inspector II. Applications are being accepted down to the Building Construction Inspector I in the event of recruiting difficulties.
Salary- Building Construction Inspector I, SR-16: $4,388.00 per month
- Building Construction Inspector II, SR-19: $4,933.00 per month
Education Requirement: Graduation from high school. One year of any work experience requiring the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions or a high degree of verbal skill may be substituted for graduation from high school.
Experience Requirements: Except for the substitutions provided for below, applicants must have had progressively responsible experience in the quantities shown and of the types and quality described in the paragraphs below.
- Specialized Experience
:
Experience in the building construction trades which required the knowledge of building construction methods and materials, safety requirements and practices, inspection of the quality of the construction materials and workmanship, and the reading of plans and specifications. - Substitution of Training for General Experience
:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering or architecture may be substituted for the two years of Specialized Experience required. - Quality of Experience
:
Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant's overall experience must have been of such type, quality, scope and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that he has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which he is being considered. - License Requirement

Applicants must possess a current, valid driver's license.

Once a temporary employee, you would be eligible to apply for promotion and transfer opportunities to permanent as well as other temporary positions.
