We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual for a Field Technician to assist in overseeing noise & vibration, pre‑construction photo‑documentation, and geotechnical instrumentation projects in the Honolulu area.
This is a part‑time / on‑call position.
Conduct field measurements and assessments related to noise and vibration in urban environments.
Pre‑construction Photo DocumentationDocument interior and exterior conditions of buildings and properties.
Geotechnical Instrumentation OversightAssist in the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of geotechnical instrumentation systems. Work closely with senior technicians to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
Noise and Vibration Monitoring Responsibilities- Collaborate with the team to implement mitigation strategies when necessary.
- Perform installations, transportation and demobilizations of noise and vibration equipment.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect and analyze data from instrumentation, noise, and vibration monitoring. - Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate and communicate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients as needed.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during field activities. - Contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Document interior and exterior conditions of the buildings and properties.
- Document the condition of the street along the alignment such as sidewalks, curbs, gutters, pavement, retaining walls, overpasses, etc.
- Prepare a survey report: includes photographs, narrative, video tapes for all conditions, deficiencies, and observations. In addition to that a handwritten explanation and notes.
- Prepare inspection reports.
- Perform installations, transportation and demobilizations of geotechnical equipment. Supervise subcontractors such as saw cutting, drilling and traffic control. In some projects, the area is surrounded by construction heavy equipment, excavations, tunnels, and or active construction sites that require safety training for all construction workers for the General Contractor.
- Employee is required to transport materials in a construction site as well as install instruments on poles, rooftops, bridges, and tunnels. Specialized tools and the ability to mount equipment using ladders and equipment (manlifts) are required. The use of these tools requires safety training to avoid injury and or death.
- Currently enrolled and or completed in a relevant degree program (geotechnical engineering, environmental science, civil engineering, etc.) – (Preferred but not required)
- Strong interest in geotechnical instrumentation, noise, and vibration monitoring.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in an outdoor field environment.
- Basic understanding of relevant instrumentation tools and software is a plus.
- OSHA 10‑hrs. (Training can be provided)
