Matrix Providers is hiring a Dental Hygienist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in Makalapa, Hawaii.

Naval Health Clinic Hawaii (NHCH) reserves the right to reassign the primary work location of contracted personnel based on scheduling needs and operational requirements to meet NHCH mission objectives. NHCH will provide 30-day notice to the contracted personnel when work locations are reassigned, the notice will specify the reassigned work location, effective dates, and relevant details. Should the primary work location close due to renovations, compelling circumstances (i.e. equipment failures) or emergency closures, temporary reassigned work location will be performed at any DHA medical treatment facility located within a 40-mile radius of NHCH.

Reimbursement will not be provided for travel within a 40-mile radius of the place of performance.

  • Employment Status: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Dental Hygienist services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0630 and 1600. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and a half (8.5) to nine (9) hour period, to include an uncompensated thirty (30) to sixty (60) minute lunch break, respectively. In no instance will the health care worker (HCW) be required to provide services in excess of forty (40) hours per week.

The Dental Hygienist must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Associate degree or bachelor’s degree depending on the program.
  • Education: Successful completion of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA).
  • Equivalency Determination Request: The Contractor may not request an equivalency determination as a substitute for education requirements.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross Healthcare Provider Course. Certified in radiography as required.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Legal Authorization to Work in the United States:
    The contract worker performing under this contract must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Contractor personnel shall perform a full range of duties consistent with their labor category, education, training, experience, clinical privileges (as applicable), and assigned position. General duties that apply to all personnel or across certain labor categories are given below.
  • Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
  • Practice aseptic techniques as necessary. Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions. Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage.
  • Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
  • Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.
  • Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth.
