Primary Purpose

Support PIDF's rural partnership strategy through research, planning, and project coordination that promotes family and community well-being. The position serves as a key liaison among PIDF programs, rural communities, and community partners to advance collaborative initiatives, support implementation, and maintain project accountability.

Position Summary

The Rural Partnership Project Analyst and Coordinator provides dedicated analytical, planning, and coordination capacity to advance PIDF’s rural partnership strategy for family and community well-being. The position serves as a central coordinating point among PIDF leadership and programs, rural communities, healthcare and community-based organizations, workforce and academic partners, public agencies, evaluators, funders, and other collaborators. The position researches and synthesizes community conditions and promising approaches, coordinates cross-sector initiatives and partner engagement, facilitates community-informed planning, maintains project accountability systems, translates emerging concepts into practical implementation readiness materials, and helps make the case for public and private investment.

Working under the direction of PIDF leadership, the position connects PIDF program teams and rural communities with lead health organizations, community clinical centers, community-based service providers, workforce and academic partners, evaluators, funders, and public agencies. The coordinator keeps decisions, responsibilities, timelines, and follow-through visible while ensuring that family,community , and frontline perspectives inform planning and implementation. The role does not provide clinical care;

clinical activities must be conducted or overseen by appropriately qualified partners.

Project Context

PIDF seeks to strengthen the network of support surrounding families in rural communities. Families often navigate separate systems for early learning, preventive and primary care, behavioral health, family support, workforce development, and other basic needs. PIDF will build durable partnerships that connect its trusted community programs with lead health organizations, community clinical centers, community-based providers, workforce, academic partners, and other organizations capable of addressing locally identified needs.

These partnerships are intended to improve access, coordination, and continuity of support while allowing each organization to contribute its own expertise and remain accountable for its appropriate role .

The position’s initial work will include the Keiki to Kūpuna Rural Early Learning and Family Health Collaborative and related rural partnership opportunities. The planning process will identify community priorities, assess potential sites and partners, clarify responsibilities, and develop shared workflows for education, prevention, screening, telehealth navigation, connection to primary care, and closed-loop referrals. It will also establish the workforce preparation, community engagement, measures, data practices, implementation costs, agreements, and financing strategy needed to move from partnership discussions to coordinated implementation.

Project Research and Analysis

  • Research the needs, strengths, priorities, existing resources, service gaps, and opportunities of rural and Native Hawaiian communities and identify partnership models that can improve family and community well-being;
  • Synthesize research, community input, program data, partner guidance, policy requirements, workforce approaches, and funding conditions into concise findings, decision briefs, presentations, landscape analyses, and practical recommendations for PIDF leadership and partners;
