Responsibilities
  • Perform pre‑anesthesia evaluations and develop individualized anesthetic care plans for pediatric patients.
  • Administer general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care to pediatric patients across a range of surgical and non‑surgical settings.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, anesthetic depth, and physiologic parameters throughout perioperative phases, including induction, maintenance, and emergence.
  • Manage airway techniques appropriate for pediatric patients, including advanced airway management and ventilation strategies.
  • Respond to intraoperative complications and perioperative emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions as required.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, pediatricians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care delivery.
  • Provide postoperative pain management and follow‑up, including regional anesthesia and sedation recovery monitoring.
  • Document all assessments, procedures, and interventions in the electronic health record in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement, safety initiatives, clinical protocol development, and peer review processes.
  • May contribute to the training and supervision of residents, fellows, or students as part of academic responsibilities.
  • Maintain accountability for meeting established productivity benchmarks (e.g., wRVUS), quality metrics, and institutional performance standards.
  • Ensure time is allocated in accordance with assigned clinical, surgical, administrative, and academic expectations.
Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited residency in Anesthesiology
  • Completion of fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology
Experience
  • Minimum 1‑3 years of post‑fellowship or equivalent clinical experience in Pediatric Anesthesiology preferred; recent fellowship graduates will be considered based on training and clinical exposure.
