Overview
The position Physician (OB/GYN) is located at Tripler Medical Center, Honolulu, HI.
About the Position:
This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Directorate of Surgery Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Oahu is known as the Gathering Place. The island features Honolulu, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Hanauma, Kane’ohe Bay, Kailua Bay, North Shore, KoʽOlina, and is the warmest Hawaiian island in the summer months.
Responsibilities- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients in the administration of routine Obstetrics and Gynecology procedures.
- Order and interpret laboratory and radiological tests.
- Utilize screening and diagnostic modalities for gynecology-related malignancies.
- Serve as a consultant on obstetrics and gynecology-related issues to Primary Care providers regarding inpatient and outpatient services.
- Advise medical officers of procedures to be followed in the care and treatment of difficult cases and to answer questions of ward personnel regarding management of hospitalized patients.
- Provide inpatient Labor and Delivery services and perform surgery.
- Perform cesarean births and hysterectomies.
- Instruct and supervise other ancillary surgical ward personnel in the care and treatment of patients.
- Administer and prescribe medicine and other associated professional treatments.
- Complete medical records per regulation either in writing or via computer input.
- Participate in continuing medical education and required clinic and staff training.
- Serve on clinic health committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirement For Physician (Obstetrics/Gynecology)
Degree:
Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. Must be accredited by the appropriate medical education bodies. Evidence of equivalency for foreign-trained graduates includes permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or other recognized pathways. Transcripts or proof of foreign equivalency may be required.
Licensure
:
Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician in the United States or territory.
Graduate Training
:
After medical degree, at least one year of supervised clinical experience (internship or first year of residency).
Requirements
In addition to the basic requirements, you must meet the following:
Residency Training
:
Successful completion of accredited residency training in the specialty, equivalent to at least 4 years; no substitution of experience for residency.

Salary quoting occurs after offer acceptance; starting salary is determined by a tiered scale based on specialty, grade, and location.

FOREIGN EDUCATION

If qualifying with foreign education, credentials must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a recognized organization.
