The Alumni Engagement Officer will plan, execute, and manage a variety of events to engage the school’s diverse community, foster relationships, and create fundraising opportunities. This position will lead alumni engagement efforts through outreach, communication, and data management to strengthen their connection with Hawaii Baptist Academy.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to manage priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Occasional evening, weekend, and off-island travel are required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Identify and cultivate alumni as potential donors, integrating fundraising strategies into alumni events in collaboration with the advancement team.
- Track and analyze alumni giving trends to inform future engagement efforts.
- Strengthen alumni connections through targeted outreach via email, social media, and direct engagement, while maintaining an accurate alumni database.
- Cultivate relationships with alumni volunteers and collaborate with faculty and staff to encourage alumni involvement in school initiatives and activities.
- Foster a sense of community by promoting networking opportunities and alumni-to-alumni connections.
- Plan and execute alumni and donor events, including reunions, donor appreciation gatherings, and networking receptions, managing all logistics such as budgeting, vendor coordination, marketing, and on-site operations.
- Recruit, train, and oversee the President’s Aloha Council (student volunteers) to support events and donor initiatives.
- Assess event success and implement improvements for future planning.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Spiritual:
Must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and; demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ as described in “The Baptist Faith and Message”, the tenets of the Southern Baptist denomination. - Skills/Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field.
- Highly preferred 3–5 years of experience in event planning, alumni relations, or a nonprofit environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and data management tools.
- Familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms for outreach.
