Job Purpose

The ʻŌlino Pathways Performing Arts Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the logistical and operational aspects of performing arts programming (Music, Theatre, and Dance) in collaboration with Teaching Artists, partners, and program leadership at the Liliʻuokalani Center. This role supports the day-to-day execution of programs by managing schedules, communication, materials, and systems that ensure programming runs smoothly and effectively.

The Performing Arts Coordinator supports awareness of youth interests and needs across sites and assists with the development and implementation of responsive, accessible, and engaging programming aligned with those needs. Housed at the Liliʻuokalani Center (LC), the Coordinator works collaboratively with other Pathway Coordinators, managers, and LT leadership to support program vision, contribute to quality assurance efforts, and assist with evaluation and continuous improvement.

Informed by a deep understanding of the adolescent experience and grounded in Hawaiian culture, the new LC will provide Hawaiian youth with opportunities to connect to peers and mentors, receive supportive services, and discover pathways to passion, purpose, and prosperity. LC will be LT's signature youth development hub for culture, creativity, technology, and play, and will serve as a resource center where youth can connect to vital support and a vibrant community.

LC will be a safe space located in urban Honolulu where youth are inspired to pursue their dreams, including exploring pathways in the arts, sports, technology, and entrepreneurship while receiving wraparound support to help them reach their goals and become thriving adults. A primary function of LC will be to provide a space for young people to play, to learn, to find connection and inspiration, and to experience joy.

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics regarding Visual arts Teaching Artists and relevant partners
  • Coordinates schedules, communication, and data collection within assigned programs or events.
  • In collaboration with Pathways Coordinators, partners, Teaching Artists, and Youth Program leadership,
    support the development and implementation of engaging group activities, workshops, and ongoing programming across daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
  • Assist Manager in communication across LC departments for proper support. (Fac/Ops, Enrollment, etc.)
  • Processes purchase requests and invoices for manager approval.
  • Responsible for tracking and organizing inventory and storage spaces;
    Ensure program spaces are equipped with necessary supplies and/or tools.
  • Confirm that Program Calendars and internal tracking systems are up to date.
  • In collaboration with Pathways Coordinators, identify local and national subject experts and best-in-class programs in Visual arts to learn from and partner with.
  • Through intentional programmatic development, design, and implementation, cultivate a sense of community and social/emotional support for participants.
  • Maintain internal systems that track kamaliʻi participation, enrollment, and engagement.
  • Ensure that programming emphasizes a connection to the broader world balanced with deep understanding of Native Hawaiian culture, highlighting opportunities for learning and advancement for participants while also strengthening ties to local communities.
  • Help coordinate the collection of data in processes that provide regular, actionable feedback from participants to inform program design.
  • Work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and supervision of all program spaces.
  • Assists with generation of marketing materials as needed and maintains information exchange with ʻohana and partners.
Other duties
  • Assists in the tracking and maintenance of tech equipment.
  • May Provide transportation when required and authorized for organization related business, such as driving staff, beneficiaries and/or families to assigned destinations
