Punahou School recognizes the richness of its traditions, as well as its responsibility to deliver a relevant, student‑centered education in a rapidly changing world. It remains anchored in the mission of developing the full potential of every student through a broad and vigorous program of studies. Our teachers are agile learners themselves, guided by our kuleana to Hawai‘i and the world.
Incoming teachers will join a dedicated and inspiring faculty whose ongoing reflection and renewal are supported by a school wide culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth(ed).
Punahou School is actively recruiting a temporary, full‑time English Faculty member for the Fall 2026 semester. The ideal candidate will join a dedicated department that fosters personal and social discovery through the collective practice of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The English Faculty member will model open‑mindedness, collaboration, and commitment to excellence, and their classes will celebrate the beauty of good literature and the emerging ideas and voices of young writers.
The English department works hard to foster a culture of respect for individual talents within a shared departmental vision. English teachers have high expectations of themselves and of each other, and they value colleagues who are energetic and reflective about their句profession and who have the courage and creativity to continually re‑think their curriculum and practices.
