Position OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for an early‑career Scientist, Chemist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our team. This role will include a combination of office‑based work and field activities. You will support a wide array of environmental projects that contribute to the protection of natural resources and the sustainability of our communities.
Responsibilities- Support environmental assessments and investigations of surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
- Conduct data entry, quality review, and support report writing to document field study results
- Assist with preparing work plans and other project documentation
- Provide field oversight and support on environmental and construction‑related projects
- Support general office tasks for project teams
- Assist in a diverse range of projects, which may include environmental compliance, construction support, natural resources management, coastal resilience, and hazardous site investigation and remediation
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering, or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
- Comfortable working in varying field conditions (e.g., hot, humid, and/or stormy weather)
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail when following safety protocols, collecting data, and preparing documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to obtain access to military installations and possess a valid driver’s license
- Understanding of environmental science within the Pacific region and/or coastal settings
- Familiarity with laboratory analytical methods or instruments
- Current 40‑hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification
Note:
This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.
Pay Range$50,000—$75,000 USD
The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
