The Financial Planning and Analysis Data Manager will play a crucial role in strategic financial decision‑making and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this individual will lead Aloha Care’s strategic financial planning and analysis activities, collaborating across departments to improve operational efficiency, analyze financial performance, and drive overall financial success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as a subject matter expert, offering informal mentorship and sharing best practices to enhance team expertise.
- Develop and execute complex calculations for provider incentives under P4P and other quality programs.
- Support the design and implementation of shared savings and value‑based purchasing initiatives.
- Develop the financial forecast and annual operating budget, including monthly/quarterly reforecasting and variance analysis.
- Lead efforts to develop and enhance the Finance data warehouse for robust architecture, data integrity, and optimized reporting.
- Calculate and reconcile State risk share settlements on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Provide detailed drill‑down analysis for cost of care and administrative expense initiatives.
- Support annual negotiations with DHS MED‑Quest for adequate capitation rates.
- Deliver analysis of core product financial indicators for recurring and ad‑hoc research.
- Assist with preparation of internal financial and operating reports, including monthly statements, KPIs, Finance Committee and Board of Directors reports.
- Assist with preparation of external financial and operating reports for regulatory agencies (HI DOI, HI DHS MED‑QUEST, NAIC).
- Oversee and analyze monthly capitation calculations and reconciliations.
- Perform cost of care analysis, identifying key cost drivers.
- Prepare 'Run Rate' analytical reports and reconcile prior period adjustments.
- Forecast and monitor the IBNR process and risk‑sharing agreements.
- Provide oversight to reinsurance programs and monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare ongoing provider risk pool statements and annual reserves.
- Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for annual financial and regulatory audits.
- Support Risk Based Capital (RBC) and statutory reserve calculations.
- Assist Medicare bid cycle by facilitating finance data requests and analysis.
