Job Description & How to Apply Below

Help manage and strengthen a growing private real estate credit portfolio. This role combines hands-on loan oversight, portfolio analytics, risk management, capital planning, and cross-functional leadership.

Myers Investment Group is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee the management, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of our private real estate credit portfolio from loan closing through repayment.

Through KOA Mortgage Fund, LLC and affiliated investment vehicles, we originate and manage business-purpose loans secured by residential and commercial real estate. Our strategies include bridge, construction, fix-and-flip, land and development, and other customized short-term financing solutions.

The ideal candidate combines the credit judgment of an experienced real estate lender with the analytical discipline of a portfolio manager. This person will maintain loan-level visibility, identify portfolio-wide risks, and help build the systems and reporting needed to support continued growth.

  • Manage and monitor active loans from closing through payoff, including payment status, maturities, borrower compliance, collateral, construction progress, and exit strategy.
  • Identify emerging credit risks and maintain the loan watchlist, early-warning process, and internal risk-rating framework.
  • Monitor construction and bridge loans against approved budgets, timelines, draw activity, leverage parameters, and remaining cost to complete.
  • Evaluate borrower liquidity, interest reserves, upcoming maturities, and repayment plans; obtain updated information and establish action plans when concerns arise.
  • Recommend appropriate action on extensions, modifications, additional reserves, restructurings, workouts, defaults, and other interventions.
  • Forecast loan payoffs, portfolio runoff, capital commitments, leverage capacity, and cash available for new originations.
  • Develop institutional-quality portfolio reporting and explain key trends, concentrations, stress scenarios, and areas of increasing risk.
  • Provide accurate portfolio data and analysis for investor reporting, institutional due diligence, audits, and capital-partner requirements.
  • Coordinate with servicing, accounting, fund administration, investor relations, originations, legal counsel, borrowers, and third-party providers.
  • Improve dashboards, reporting procedures, system integrations, and automated alerts, while applying portfolio insights to new loan and underwriting decisions.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in private credit, commercial real estate lending, bridge or construction lending, mortgage banking, loan portfolio management, special assets, or a related area of real estate finance.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate-secured credit and customized loan structures.
  • Ability to analyze borrower financial strength, liquidity, collateral, loan-to-value and loan-to-cost ratios, construction budgets, and repayment strategies.
  • Strong Excel and financial-analysis skills, including the ability to build and interpret portfolio-level reporting.
  • Experience monitoring loans after closing, including servicing, payoffs, extensions, modifications, maturities, and problem-loan management.
  • Ability to identify risk proactively, challenge assumptions, and communicate recommendations clearly to senior management.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with borrowers, service providers, and internal teams.
  • Experience with private debt funds, mortgage funds, specialty finance companies, family offices, or private lenders is strongly preferred.

At least five years of relevant experience in private credit, commercial real estate lending, bridge or construction lending, mortgage banking,…
